The museum, situated in the Winelands of the Western Cape about 45 minutes from Cape Town, exhibits collections from various parts of Africa. It also focuses on the local history of the town from pre-historical times to the present. This includes an extensive collection of ancient Egypt.
A substantial part of the museum exhibitions is dedicated to the Rev. Dr. Andrew Murray, the Scottish born theologian who had such a big influence on the mainstream Afrikaans churches of is time.
