Fransie Pienaar staff edited 2

The Fransie Pienaar Museum portrays the cultural and natural history of Prince Albert and the district. It has a large collection of furniture and paintings. The cast of the Bradysaurus fossil footprints found in the area that evokes images of the Great Karoo millions of years ago and a rare, intact Khoekhoe clay pot found on the outskirts of the town are worth a visit.

Exhibitions focus on local history during the Stone Age period, gold mining during the late 19th century, forced removals during the 1960s and the life and art of local artist, Outa Lappies (Jan Schoeman).

During March every year, witblits is distilled in our antique copper still and sold at the museum.
