I See You

Once, people with intellectual disabilities were hidden from view - photographed, studied, and confined rather than seen. Their photos, captured in the 19th and early 20th centuries, became silent witnesses to neglect and misunderstanding.
Using their images, Professor Rory du Plessis gives voice to those once silenced,
giving back the humanity and respect that history denied them.
This exhibition reminds us of the simple, powerful truth at the heart of humanity: every person deserves to be seen.
